Day Services

Learning Without Walls

At CCO, learning doesn't stop when someone leaves home.

Our day services are fully integrated with our residential model, creating opportunities for individuals to learn and practice skills in real-world environments.

Rather than relying solely on classroom-style instruction, individuals learn where skills are naturally used in the community, with peers, and through meaningful experiences.

Individuals spend their days:
• Volunteering
• Exploring local businesses
• Participating in recreation and fitness activities
• Building friendships
• Learning vocational and life skills
• Taking classes
• Attending cultural and community events
• Practicing real-world skills in everyday environments

This natural approach allows people to learn where skills are actually used, making learning more meaningful, practical, and lasting.

CommUniversity Day Program

A Fresh Approach to Learning, Growth, and Independence

CommUniversity empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities through engaging, person-centered experiences that promote lifelong learning, personal growth, and a higher quality of life.

Combining community, education, and recreation, the program offers customized classes, social activities, community involvement, and job training (paid and volunteer) tailored to each individual's goals, interests, and strengths.

Through hands-on learning and meaningful experiences, participants build confidence, develop valuable life skills, and gain greater independence every day.
